2009 SCE Lineman Rodeo

Yesterday Wes, Logan and I got our butts up at the crack of dawn (4am for myself) and traveled to Irwindale to attend the Southern California Edison Lineman Rodeo. Now for those of you who have NO idea what I’m talking about, don’t feel bad, either did I until Wes and I got married.  When I hear rodeo I think; horses, bucking broncos, and bulls, and believe me, there are NONE of those at this rodeo! The Lineman Rodeo is where all these men come together who work in the same trade and they compete in different competitions to see who is better and faster. It is actually really neat and I am glad we went. Not so glad I woke up at 4am on my day off, but glad I was able to experience something Wes has been talking about for the last three years!  And can I also tell you how much I enjoyed taking pictures of these events.  It was overcast, and I was still sleeping so they didn’t turn out as good as I would have like, but they will due.

Daddy’s Boy

Logan Is 100% a Daddy’s boy! From the moment we wake up in the morning until Wes gets home all I hear is “ DAAAD-DE” and “OH YEAH”. Yes, at times I am jealous, very jealous! This is MY boy, I carried you in MY womb, did you forget? You are supposed to want to be with your mom at ALL times. I guess for now I’ll let this pass. Just remember who feeds you and changes your diaper. One day you will want me again, and I’ll be waiting.

A Wonderful Day

Today was such an amazing day with my family. Scratch that, this weekend was such an amazing weekend with my family. I could not have asked for a better weekend with all of us here. We woke up today and Logan’s eye was almost swollen shut and I had a headache. So yes, I could have done without those two, but besides that I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Once we got moving Logan’s eye got better, but boy did he do a number on that thing. After I got him in the shower and could really see what he did I just laughed. He scraped the whole thing. I thought it was just one scrape and we mostly were seeing blood. Oh no! He got the whole dang eye. Wes said this is just preparing us for when he starts UFC. Ha! Don’t think so, not my baby. He my be the bully of the bunch but no UFC fighting out of this house!

I took my wedding ring in the other day to be cleaned and re-dipped, I also had to buy a new necklace because my son decided to pull on the one I  had for the last six years and break it. Thank God for a Zales card.  My ring and necklace were ready to be picked up this evening so we decided to eat dinner down there at our most favorite place. CHIPOTLE!!!  Woohoo. Man do I love their soft steak tacos, and as we were driving home my husband decided frozen yogurt sounded good. He was right. I can’t tell you enough how much I enjoyed being around my family. Listening to the boys laugh and play lights up my heart. It is truly rewarding as a mother to hear your child laugh uncontrollably. I wish everyday could be as good as today!

Another War Wound

As I was writing my last post, Wes yelled down the hall; “Your boy has done it again mom!” Now the first thing that popped into my mind was him destroying something because let’s admit, this does happen often. But, to my dismay, I was wrong. The “again” was another war wound. This is not the first and I am SURE it will not be the last!

Story has it, my boy was climbing the kitchen table chairs and ate it into the wall. The only reason why this is surprising to me is because those chairs are the ONLY thing he has yet to climb.  Even after climbing, falling, bleeding, crying, he did it again and this time got his nose!.

Like I said.. I really don’t know what I am going to do with this child of mine.

The top picture is before he went for round two! As you can see, round two caught his nose!

I just wanted to point out the war wound he is going to have until he looses his baby teeth. This happened when he was climbing the dog cage, saw my dad coming from across the street, got excited, and fell. He also chipped the one next to it but it took off a layer so you can’t tell from the photo.  ( He did this the same week he swallowed  the screw and called 911)

I do have to say, this kid is happy most of the time. He cried for a minute or two if that and then off he went playing again.

Nothing is going to stop this kid. I think I need to put him in a bubble or something.

No Words

I have no words for these kids today. They have really kept me on my toes. At times you just want to ring their necks and other times you literally cannot get enough of them. Today I have felt both ways about them.  Actually, Kohl has been really good all day, just a few minor kinks in the road but nothing much. Logan, on the other hand, is completely insane! I seriously don’t know what I am going to do with this kid. You tell him no, so he’ll do it again just to test you. If you spank him he might cry for a second and then he’s back to what he was doing to get in trouble. And if I catch him in the act, like jumping on Kohl’s bed and head butting the wall he will just look at me with a smile that is worth a million words.

Logan walks around saying “Oh Yeah” to everything. At first I had no idea where he got this from, then Wes pointed it out. It’s from me! Every time he mumbles something I always say “oh Yeah?” so now this is what we hear for a good six hours of the day, it drive Wes nuts!  He also says “ut oh” a lot. Mostly when he throws things he is not supposed to. He will throw his bottle look up at you and blurt out “UT OH” . Today he was in the dogs water and knocked it over, looked up and said; “Ut Oh Da-dee” I have to say the only thing that is saving this kid from me strangling him is his cuteness. So for his sake, I sure hope he stays cute!

Today I had to do yard work so both the boys were outside playing and getting into everything. I walked away from the lawn mower and my kid thought it was a riding lawn mower.  Then I look over and Kohl is playing military games with himself and the tree branches I cut down. ( last time it was Ninja games) Regardless of what “game” he is playing, he thinks he is a warrior.  2009May_4156

And this is when he had to get off so I could actually mow the lawn!

I told Kohl he looked like Peter Pan is this first picture.. Love the pose!
