One Day of My Life

Logan wakes at 8am, I jump up and rush to get a bottle before he fully awakes hoping I can sleep until 9.

He then finishes his bottle and I try to play possum thinking he will want to be like mommy and go back to sleep, this only results in him yelling MOM-E and then kissing me ( who can resist that?) After the sweet soft kiss that melts my heart, he then thinks he is in WWF and starts jumping all over me.

I then realize that today is the day I need to go to the grocery store and actually by my family some food. Oh yay! I proceed in the bathroom where I then decided that my hair actually doesn’t look dirty and I will be able to throw it up and no one will ever know I didn’t shower today. At this same moment I turn around to find Logan playing with his toy car in the toilet.  So what do I do? I roll up his sleeves and make HIM fish it out of that dirty thing and then I wash it off so he can continue to play with it.

Now it is time to make my shopping list, because without this list I will come home with NOTHING I need but everything that looked good.  As I am sitting at the computer writing my list, Logan decides he wants to be in the chair with me. He climbs up my legs like I am the latest and greatest jungle gym, then starts playing with his toy car all over the list I am trying to write and throws the biggest fit when I move him so I can keep writing before I forget everything I need.. I have to jump up and check the fridge to see what else I am missing, only to come back to a little boy in my chair that refuses to move. Ok, so I sit down on him and then he decides the best thing is to stand behind me and play with my hair. Aww love. He is so sweet when he wants to be. Wait.. he is getting a little rough,, ahh that hurts. Wait, what is that in my hair??? Oh wonderful! It is the toy car that I made him fish out of the toilet 20 minutes earlier.

As I start to get dressed ( and can’t find anything to wear) Logan starts running around the house yelling all sorts of nonsense that I can’t understand. When it is time to dress him he continues to run FROM me! At this point, when I can’t catch him, I am ready to call it quits and stay home. Only to remember that we have NO food and my family is counting on me.  Finally get Logan dressed only to realize that the jeans that fit him last week are WAY to small today. Of course I can’t find his new jeans, so shorts it is.

Driving to the store, which is 45 minutes away, I listen to him in the back seat call out every horse he sees (hee hee) and yell for Daaaadeee and Da (grandpa). I probably explain 30 or more times that Daaadee and Da are both at work and yes that is a hee hee.

First stop, Costco. Wait for parking… did I really decided to come shopping on a Friday? Wow, that was dumb. Jam in Costco and head straight for the soy milk. Load up my cart and head straight for the check out. If you start looking around in Costco, you money tends to stay at Costco and not go home with you.. Oh.. is this the snack isle. Why yes it is! Ok, I will get Wes some snacks for him lunch and then I am OUT!

Leave Costco and get Logan some lunch from Burger King. The ride from Costco to Staters is nothing but French fries and chicken stars, it is a very quiets ride too. My kid loves him some food.

Walk in Starters to find out I have just refueled my child and he wants to talk to every person that walks by us. This results in ME talking to every person that walks by us. When I finally make it out of there I am beat. I feel like I have just been interviewed  by Barbra Walters for the last hour.

Logan is  very quiet on the ride home. I look in the rear view mirror to check on him only to find him trying to keep his heavy little eyes open. Ahh he has lost the fight, he is out!

Get home, start unloading to car, it is now really sinking in that I am beat and have no energy to accomplish anything. Please let Dad get home soon. As I am taking groceries in the house I notice my child has gotten in the dogs water. This is not your average dog bowl. This is 50 gallon drum cut in half. The water goes to Logan’s chest, great he is swimming in the dog water, with his shoes on. Oh well.. I have food to take in. On my next trip outside he is now out of the dog water and in the dirt.. hmmm water+dirt= MUD. Oh how I love my child.  Logan is still rolling around in the dirt and the dog is watching him so I’ll go inside and put away the food. I look out the window to see that DAD IS HOME! YAY YAY YAY. Mom gets a break.

Sit on the couch for the next hour watching TV while the boys play outside. Everyone comes in and we decide to eat Pizza for dinner. Wes wants to eat it there and I want him to go pick it up.. Wes wins, we all get in the car.  Oh great, Logan is now grumpy and screaming in the Pizza pallor as we wait for food. I then explain to Wes this is why I wanted to eat at home. I sit there waiting for my food trying to drown out the sound of my child screaming because he has to sit in the highchair. Well what do you know…. food comes and he is a happy camper. Like I said… my boy loves him some food.

Come home, let the boys run around like wild maniacs for an hour. As they are running around I lay on my bed with my eyes closed listening to all the ruckus and think to myself ..wow, this is my life now, please let this new baby be a girl! =) Right about this same time I hear Logan whining through the house.. mama.. ma ma .. ba ba..

Yes.. my boy wants a Ba ba.. off to bed you go and now I sit her and write when I should be in bed.

I know this was very long, and probably boring. But that is just one day of my life as a stay at home mom. It really doesn’t get more exciting than this.  But I do have to say, I love it. Yes, there are times when I would like to run away for a couple hours, but I am so happy with my life right now and being able to spend my days with Logan.
