Birthday Blues

Today is my birthday and I am having such a poopy day!
I really don't know why I feel this way, it's not like today is some big milestone of over the hill. I'm only 26! I guess once you turn 21 there really isn't much to look forward to on your birthday! When your young you can't wait to turn 13, because then your a teenager, then you can't wait to turn 16 so you can get your license and then there is the big 21, so you can LEGALLY drink! Once your are done with 21, then what? You have to wait until you are a senior so you can get the discounts? Or hit the age where you have to get yearly mammograms and other fun things at the doctor. oh yay! I guess it's needless to say. Getting older sucks! Hell I don't need to wait to get a handicap placard.. cause I already have that thanks to my wonderful knee, and I don't need to wait to get a jazzy, because I probably will need one before I know it. So what is there to look forward to on your birthday.
Don't get me wrong, this is not the end of the world. I can't wait to see my kids get older, graduate, get married and have crazy kids of their own. But as of today, I just really don't see anything to celebrate about.
Ugh. I sound pathetic! I need to get away. Or scream!

Maniac!

Logan is a maniac these days. I can hardly keep my eye on him. At any moment I may turn around and find on top of a table or climbing something he shouldn't be near.
If I had a quarter for every time I said NO in a day, man would I be rich!

My morning started off with waking up to a dog that had poop stuck in her butt. That alone can ruin someones day! Then I take a brief look around at my dirty house and realize it needs to be cleaned. I walked into the laundry room to start a load and grab the broom only to find Logan and Penny playing tug-of-war with a diaper and the insides are everywhere. Started sweeping the kitchen to realize I had forgotten the dust pan, walk to get it and when I come back everything I have swept is now everywhere, worse than before.

If that is not enough.. I also had our local sheriff to my house this morning. Logan decided he wanted to "play" with the phone and called 911. I had no idea this was going on so when they called back to make sure everything was OK I explained to the woman that my 14mo old son was playing with the phone and I was very sorry. Since I have worked as a 911 dispatcher I figured a deputy would be coming to check on us. Sure enough he came, and silly me should have gotten dressed knowing someone was most likely going to come. When he saw Pete he immediately got out his pepper spray and THEN yelled out to see if he was nice! Oh Boy! I was still in my P.J's which consist of some ratty shorts and one of Wes' work shirts with NO Bra! Now if you know me, you know this is great! With no bra, I can play kick ball with my big ol' boobs! Yes, lucky me!! Not!!!! So after telling him that it really was my Crazy kid who I just put down for a nap, he quickly left!.

I took some pictures today when we were eating lunch. I think these pictures are worth a thousand words. Today Has been crazy, but it is so hard not to love this crazy kid with everything I got! He is my world!

OH NUTS!!!

Photobucket

Litteraly... Well screws, not nuts but it's the same thing!

Today was just one of those days where I didn't feel so well and I would have been happy with staying in bed all day. Come to find out.. I should have!
Logan and I went outside to play and I started to do yard work. Recently he has become very fond of the little rocks/pebbles in our driveway. So fond, that he likes to put them in his mouth. So as I was sweeping he came up to me with a mouth full of rocks, I said "yucky" and then is spit them out and started saying "eegh-ucky" so I proceeded to spray off the patio and sidewalk. When I was done I went to turn the water off and Logan had a mouth full of something.. Well that something was screws! Not rocks! I tried to grab them out of his mouth as quick as possible when he chocked, gaged, and THEN swallowed! Yes he swallowed a screw! I called my dad first. Now if my dad says I should call the doctor, than I better call. So after talking to the ER and to my boss at work, they both suggested I take him to get an x-ray to see where this thing was. On the way there I called Kalin so she could make me laugh about the situation and also told her I was afraid that they would find more things than a screw in this kids stomach, because lets be real... who knows what he gets into through out the day!
We arrive at the ER and got checked in and the promptly had a x-ray taken and then waited.
To make this already long story shorter..... The screw had traveled past his diaphragm which put him in the OK zone. It was small enough (1/4 - 1/2) not to open him up and take it out. Now the real fun begins.... Watching his poop! Ha.

Venice Beach

On Saturday after a very rough morning at home, we decided to go to Venice Beach. Wes had never gone and I love going! Oh, I could sit there all day long in the same spot and look at all the different people. Originally Shelly was going to watch the baby but after our rough morning and at one point deciding not to go we called and told her we wouldn't be needing her. After and hour or two we decided what the heck, and took off. Can I just tell you that traffic was ridiculous! I cannot stand sitting in traffic, it makes me go nutty and puts my in a HORRIBLE mood! But once we got there I was good to go. We walked up and down looking and all the shops and people and before we left we wanted Logan to play in the sand and run around a little so he would sleep on the way home! As I have mentioned before, my kid loves water! He doesn't care how cold it is, just to be in or near it makes him happy. So after walking through the deep sand Wes thought it would be nice to let him touch the water. Wes said we had to reward him for his effort of walking through the sand! Ha . Ya just watch!

Photobucket
First we find the sand and start to play...
Photobucket
Second: We find the water, and Dad does everything he can to keep Logan on his feet...
Photobucket
Photobucket
Logan then escapes and makes a break for it...
Photobucket
Soon after escaping he cannot walk so he falls into the water.
Photobucket
Photobucket
and then is as happy as a clam to be wet!
Photobucket
He just kept running back for more and more...
Photobucket
It was a struggle to get him out of the water...
Photobucket
Photobucket
Once we did we had one sandy, salty boy. Luckly I had water in the car for a little rinse off!
Photobucket
It was such a wonderful day spent with my family. I hope for many more days just like that, minus the traffic!

No Dryer!

We have no Dryer! We haven't had a dryer in about 4 weeks! I have been using my parents dryer across the street. Well while doing my laundry a couple days ago, theirs broke too! Since I didn't want to drive to Idyllwild to dry my clothes I thought I would do it like the "old days"! Wes wasn't happy when I have clothes hung up everywhere so he went out and hung a rope for me. He said his idea was a little less white trash, but I am sure that is NOT what the neighbors are thinking when they drive by!

All I can say is it WORKS! We have dry clothes and they smell reeeel good!

And Please don't tell him you saw his chones! He might get a little embarrassed! he he

Nothin But LOVE Brother!

I love the weekends when Kohl it at our house. I love our time with him and to watch him grow. Times have been hard between us lately. I'm the enemy! I guess it has something to do with the word "step-mom"! Regardless how he may feel about me I have nothing but love for the kid and really have his best interest at heart, I can only hope one day he will see this too.
When Kohl is over Logan's face lights up! He loves his brother so much and tries to do everything just like him. It is funny to sit back and watch Logan follow every step that Kohl takes. This is also nice, because it keeps them both entertained. No matter how many times Kohl puts up a front that his brother is bothering him, I know deep down he is totally digging it!!
