Big News!

We are expecting baby number TWO.

I could hardly believe my eyes when I peed on that sick! We are so thrilled to be blessed with another baby. My due date should be around May 25th, 2010, but since I grow big babies we are probably looking more towards the first two weeks in May.

I have so many emotions running through me it is crazy. I am so excited for another and also, so so scared.  I don’t remember feeling this run down with Logan. I am so tired I can hardly get through the day. It doesn’t help that for the last two weeks Logan has been completely out of control. This is why we are starting day care tomorrow for once a week. I think it will be really good for him to socialize with other kids and to have an outing from home. This will also be good for me, so that once a week I can sleep, clean, or doing nothing for six whole hours.

After working in Labor and Delivery for five years and seeing all the bad things that can happen I become very anxious during pregnancy. I felt this way with Logan, but since Wes was battling cancer when I was pregnant with Logan it wasn’t as easy to think about what could go wrong.  This time I already feel that I am questioning what is going on with my body and I’m a whooping six weeks.

So I ask, please pray from my sanity along with good health for baby and myself.

Only a week late…

Okay maybe it's been two weeks, but who’s counting? ( besides my dad!)  I have been so busy these last two weeks I don’t know where the time has gone.  So we shall backtrack the best I can…..

Two weeks ago I came down with the flu and it was HORRIBLE! I cannot remember the last time I felt that bad. Luckily my Dad was home and came over to get Logan. If I would have had to watch him and feel like I did, I honestly don’t know what I would have done. So that lasted for about three days and then we continued on with our busy week.

Kohl started playing soccer this year.  I wasn’t able to attend his first game because of a photo shoot so Wes, Logan and I drove down to Garden Grove last Saturday to watch him play.  When we woke up that morning Logan was running a low grade temp  but I didn’t think too much about it. Gave him some Tylenol and off we went.  Kohl’s game was a sight to see. Let’s just say his is the ONLY white boy on the team and when we walked up his coach was yelling in Spanish to all the other players.  I thought with Kohl having A.D.H.D. he would do great at soccer. This kid has so much energy he can run circles around anyone. Well, not so much on the soccer field. Kohl likes to talk to the other players ( who could care less) and watch/laugh as the ball rolls by him.  It was very interesting to watch. His favorite part of the game is half time when they get to eat oranges.  This is his first year so we can only hope he will get better. Next try; Baseball.

After the game we had to make some stops before driving up the mountain and I could tell Logan was starting to feel worse and worse. When my boy won’t eat lunch or any food for that matter, you know something is terribly wrong.  So I told Wes we needed to get home fast so I could put him in a cool bath and he could rest.  We had to make one more stop just about 10 minutes from out house to get more Tylenol, so Wes ran in and then we got back on the highway when all of a sudden….. Cough, cough. Blahhhhhh… Logan decided to vomit EVERYWHERE in my car! Oh yay!

I was trying to grab anything and everything possible to catch it, to the point where I was taking off my shirt when he finally stopped.  I am pretty good when it comes to poop and other things, but I am NOT so good at vomit. Oh so not my favorite.  He feel asleep right after hurling so then it was just a race to get home.

Once home, I started a bath and we put him in there and got him all cleaned up. Wes told me he would get the car seat out and clean the car so I  was relived. Until I noticed him and Logan we BOTH asleep in the chair.. WHAT! Wait! you said you were going to clean the car???? Great, this means I have to.  So i go myself some gloves and a bandana to put over my face and went into the warzone.  It was a mission, but I did it ALL, without help! Ha. Take that!

So there ya have it. Last weekend all wrapped up for you. Now maybe my dad will stop bugging me. I find it funny that the man lives ACROSS the street and we see each other if not talk to each other EVERY day… so why is it so important to update my blog, that five people read???? man o man, I guess anything to keep the old man happy.  ♥ ya Dad

Great Recipe

I just wanted to share this great recipe with you all ( yes, all five of you)

My step mom has been making this for years and it is so good. Once I became a mother ( because I really didn’t cook before then) I realized how easy this is to make and  I get thumbs up from the kids, and hubby, which is hard to do sometimes.

Pizza Casserole

Oven to 350

you’ll need:

1lb ground beef or turkey, we use turkey

1 chopped onion ( I don’t use this, we are a NON onion family)

1 can tomato soup

1 can tomato paste

1 can pizza sauce

I package of eggs noodles

1/2 cup milk

1 egg beaten

shredded mozzarella cheese

And then add you own pizza ingredients like pepperoni, olives, mushrooms ect.

Brown your meat and onion. Add soup, paste and pizza sauce.

Cook noodles, drain and then add milk and egg.

Put into a 9x13 greased pan, add meat mixture and mix around.

Add cheese and then your pizza toppings

Put that puppy in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes and WAAAALLAA serve with salad and bread.

Completely Moved!

Tuesday of this week Wes, His parents and myself went to our church to listen to Nick Vujicic speak. Holy Moly! This guy is amazing! I was completely moved by his story, I hope that I will never be the same again.

If you have never heard of him you should Google or YouTube him. He is a 26yo man with no arms and no legs. Life without Limbs is his organization.

Sitting there I realized so much. Especially that we are capable of ANYTHING. It doesn’t matter what disabilities we have or what we DON’T have, it is what we choose to do with what we were given.  We shouldn’t ask God “why?” ….Why didn’t you make me like “that Person” ? because we are ALL made by God with our OWN special qualities. What we do with these qualities is up to us. We can sit and mope or we can make something of ourselves, serve the Lord and live happy.

We we go through rough times we often wonder why it is happening to us but what we need to remember is that the Lord is preparing our hearts! He is strengthening  them for something more. God may not stop the storm but he WILL be there to keep us warm through it.  Wes and I both walked away from hearing Nick speak with a new outlook on life. I am so happy as a family we started a new church and our love is growing daily for our Lord. I wish we would have done this years ago.  My goal now is to live by these words I just wrote. I need to remember daily that I am not alone in my walk. Times may seem tough but we WILL get through them and they are only preparing our hearts for something much more, much greater.

For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE.

This kid is giving me gray hair!

End of story!

Wake Up Mama

This morning I was laying in bed listening to the boys fight over waffles and Kohl trying to explain to Logan that is was hot “brother” and “you need to wait a minute” when I must have dozed off. It was that sleep where you are kind of awake but not really. Lately I haven’t been able to fall asleep so when the mornings come, I am just not ready for them.

So I am laying there in my half asleep state when all of a sudden I am rudely awakened by COLD WATER!!

My lovely son decided that I should not be in bed and that I needed to get up so he grabbed the full glass of water I had at my bed side and decided to pour it on me.  I a brief second I thought, I'm just going to lay here in this water… Then I realized I was cold and wet, very wet!

Needless to say, I got up pretty fast after that and started my lovely day with two kids who don’t listen and do whatever they want! ( I really wanted to pull my hair out all day, but… it happens, just keepin it real!)

On a side note, we have a new animal in our house. I haven’t decided if I like him/her yet, still trying to feel it out. I will take some pictures tomorrow and explain more.
