Birthdays Glore

So this last week we experienced three birthdays. Stacey, my sister, turned 14 on Tues. Then Colin, my nephew, turned 10 on Wed. Then there was Ian, my punk nephew, turned 16 on Sat. SO of course we had to celebrate. The pictures say a lot. I am so thankful for my crazy family, and love being around my sis-n-law and her family. When I am around Ian, Lauren and Colin I just laugh. They fight so much, it is like watching an episode from Jerry Springer. I'm sure Roxanne wishes it were different, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Boy

OH Logan! I'm telling you, this kid is going to be trouble. The faces he makes with his personality just make me laugh.
Yesterday Wes and Kohl were playing x-box so I sat him in the room with them to cook dinner. When I walked by to check on ALL of them, this is what they were doing, putting various hats on my boy.

Logan's happy face.

Tonight as Kohl was breaking rocks to try and make us rich we had Logan outside with us while Wes was cooking some chicken on the BBQ. He has become so animated and goofy. Also in the last week or so he has discovered his tongue and how he can squill like a pig.. I look at him and can just tell that I am going to have my hands full...

Oh yes and then his father gave him the beer bottle to see what he would do.. I'm in trouble!

My rock boy

So Kohl has this thing with rocks, as I'm sure a lot of little boys do, he loves them. He likes to find the shinny ones and break them open. He always tells us that there are crystals inside them, and we're going to be RICH!!.. Oh if it were only true.
SO on a daily basis when he is here he will go rock hunting, most of the time at my parents, bring them home grab our little hammer and a screw driver or two, and then go to town.

He is very serious while he is working, and most of the time doesn't like to be disturbed.

I figure let the man work. Most of the time I am missing some tools after this litte job of his, but oh well. Boys will be boys.

And you can't forget the safety glasses.. Safety first.

Impossible not to be Inspired

This weekend we had an amazing experience to watch the USA synchronized swimming team perform before they left for Beijing. It was very neat to watch how these woman can hold their breath for so long and also be able to be so athletic. It was very hard not to be inspired to make myself healthier. I have always been a fan of synchronized swimming, and then our niece Lauren started swimming in Riverside months ago so we have been able to watch it first hand now. We love going to her performances ( I'm sure that is not what they call them) and watching all the little girls. It is really fun to watch the 15-16yo girls because they are a little more advanced and can do much more in the water with much more force.

Anyway I think the greatest part about the whole day was watching this 81 yo woman swim. She was fantastic. I couldn't believe my eyes when she came out in her wheelchair and then dove into the pool and did her routine. I can only hope that I will be this active when I am her age..( we all know that this will NOT happen though) but I still still hope. Watching her made me want to excerise EVERYDAY and take better care of myself. I can't image being 81 years old and still being able to do a 4 min routine in 10ft of watch holding my breath for a minute or more. WOW. I really really really want to be this woman when I am older.

This is Courtney, she left today for Colorado for the Jr. trials or something like that if she makes it she will be gone for a month... Basically that means she is really good.

Fourth Of July

Photobucket

Logan Experienced his first 4th of July this year, and he seemed to enjoy it. Towards the end of the night when we started fireworks it was near his bed time so he was a little cranky. Then once fireworks started he just stared for a while then fell asleep..

Wes, Kohl and I had a great time, then after the baby fell asleep Mama started having fun and I really don't remember much. But we'll save that for later.
