Red Hill park

I took some test shots at Red Hill Park in Rancho Cucamonga yesterday and really liked the location. So if you live in that area here is a wonderful spot to take pictures. I love all the tress and the pond!  This is one of my closest friends Stacie. She is amazing and I am so blessed to have her in my life!

Writers Block

It was brought to my attention today that I have not blogged in a while. I am sure I have an uproar of angry people. Ya Right!

Honestly I have been so busy with trying to get my Photography Business up and running.  It is crazy when you finally decide to take the next step, it is a HUGE step and there is a lot to do.  I have to say that God is good. I put my total faith into him on this ( which I should do more often) and asked him to take me where he thinks I should be. With that I already have four bookings in Sept!

Besides that there is not much else going on. We had a tragic day last weekend in the Sons house. Our TV finally decided to pass away. It was so sad. Wes and I were watching TV when all of a sudden it turned off, which happens often, but this time it was different. After turning off all I could smell was burnt wire. It has a very distinct smell. I looked at Wes and told him I think that was the last time. There would be no more. We waited a while and sure enough it didn't turn on. The next morning we gave it one last try and still NO GO. So we loaded her up and took her to the dump. Wes said he felt like he should hug her. haha.  I guess I shouldn’t complain too much since this TV was given to us, but it was so nice to have such a big TV in our living room.  I am in the process of paying everything off so we have NO debt, but I think we are going to have to make a trip to best buy, since I have credit there.  Kinda sad how much our lives revolve around our TV. Maybe this is the time to change that. …. ummm yeah I don’t think so. I like my TV time. sorry.

Onto Logan.  This kid is so nutty I really don’t know what I am going to do with him. We still have NOT resolved his sleeping arrangements which is really starting to take a toile on both Wes and I. He has also decided that he only needs one nap a day. Sometimes I can get two in there, but most days it is just one.  He is so FULL of life and energy.   I can’t keep up with him.  He is non stop talking, even though I have no clue what he is talking about.  He is trying to say more things. I am looking forward to him talking more. I would love to know what is going on in that little head of his.  He is a complete Daddy’s boy. From the moment we wake up until Wes gets home he runs around the house yelling DAADEE. He is also a big fan of Kohl. I hear DAADEE and KOhLLEE a lot. He also LOVES going over to my parents house. His latest words have been “ a rye” which I have figured out means “a ride” and a ride would be on the Rhino. Logan would live outside and sleep on the Rhino if I let him.  He is starting to like when we read to him, but he must he in control of turning the pages or he will get mad. When he is doing something he shouldn’t be or gets in trouble he just acts like he doesn’t hear me yelling his name.  i seriously wish someone with a camera could follow me for a day, because words do not justify this kids actions or his personality. He has been trying to jump lately, which means he throw is hands up in the air along with one leg!

We finally finished my parents pool and then we blew up the pump which works the heater. oopps. Who needs a heater? Well, it would be nice but the pool still works and you can still swim in it. I love that thing. It is such a great workout and I am finally do something the docs have been telling me to do for the last six years. With my knee I am only supposed to swim and ride a bike. Speaking of bikes. When I went on my Mom_cation last week Kalin gave me he husbands old mountain bike that he doesn’t use. I love riding bikes. I went on a bike ride when I got home and I think my butt still hurts. Holy Moly. I either need to buy a new seat or just have my booty build a tolerance.

For the most part things are great in the Sons house. If I could get  to my laundry things would be even better.  I am going to test shoot tomorrow in Rancho so hopefully I will have some pictures for you.

Wonderful Weekend

I just wanted to write a little something before I went to bed. If I didn’t do it now, I know it wouldn’t get done.

I had the MOST AMAZING weekend with my family.

I long for weekends like this.

Saturday morning we woke up, got the family ready and drove to Anza to check out the local swap meet! Holy Cow. It was a sight to see. If you don’t know where Anza is… well it is in the middle of nowhere (yes, I too live in the middle of nowhere) but the local folks are a little on the hick/white trashy side. No offense, really! We love those kind of people! I told my dad as we were walking around I would have love to taken a chair and just sat there people watching! After we walked around we went to out breakfast with my parents. Once we got home we walked across the street to my parents house and spent the day there. The kids ran around all day, while my dad, Wes, and I tried to put together their new endless pool. The whole pool thing is a story within it self. We got a lot done, but fear we have a lot more to do. I was the direction reader while the men folk did the hard labor. It's funny when you throw a woman into the mix and if she dare try to add in her two cents or a suggestion is it immediately turned down ( more by my husband than my dad!) After spending ALL day on that darn pool we cleaned up, which meant taking a wash cloths to the kids and giving them a spit bath so we could drive to Iddlywild to get some dinner. When we got home from dinner we put Logan to bed and us “big” kids, Wes, Kohl, and myself, played some WII golf. Can you guess who won? HA!! NOT WES! I finally beat him. I even did my winning dance, which made everyone a tad mad! hehe

This morning Wes was attempting to make us breakfast when Kohl’s mom called and they were trying to figure out when it was best to meet. Well, it just happened to be right then. He took Logan with him so I would have some quiet time to myself. This meant I could clean up the kitchen without any distractions and then I was able to mow the law before he came back too. WOW.. what a good wife I am! Once he got home we once again attempted to finish the pool, key word: ATTEMPTED! It didn’t happen. SO I made my hubby some dinner, we watched some T.V. and just hung out.

I love weekends like theses. I wish we would have made it to church but it just didn’t happen. I am so in love with my family and so blessed to have them in my life. My parents are amazing people. I truly don’t know where I would be without them. They have always been there for me and I can go to them for anything. I love how well Wes and my dad get along. The two of them pair up and become a team, you can’t beat em’!

My husband is so patient (most of the time) I was amazed to sit back and watch him this weekend work on this pool. There were times when my dad I and would read the directions over and over and then stare at the pieces wondering what in the world we were supposed to do with them. Wes would come back, take one look at it all and have it ready in two minutes. You don’t often get to see the “working” side of your spouse. You know they go to work, do and job, and then come home. This weekend I was lucky enough to see him in action and he is awesome!

Then there is my son! How was I so lucky for this little guy to pick me to be his mom? His personality grows more with each day. He has become so independent and is filled with so much energy. He is really testing me right now and loves to pretend he doesn’t hear me when I call his name and say NO! At times it is so hard to discipline him because the stuff he is doing is so darn funny. I think to myself where did he get that from, Or what was he thinking. At times I want to strangle him, but I love him too much!

All I can say is I am truly blessed all around. Life is good. God is great! And I had one amazing weekend with my family!

Oh and another great thing I get to leave in the morning, kid free, to go and visit my friend Kalin in Ventura! AHH I can’t wait! Mom-cation!

Here is a picture of the pool we are trying to put together…. The pool itself was easy. It is getting the motor, pump, heater, and all the fun stuff together we are having the issues with!

Poor Little Monkey

My little monkey once again had a rough night. He woke up with a very hoarse voice and wanted to be Mr.. Cuddle bug, for only about 2.5 seconds!  Actually he slept with me until 10am. Can you say AMAZING! It’s not the best sleep when your kid is all cuddled up next to you and you arm tingles because it has been asleep for the last two hours, but it is sleep, and I will take it!

Throughout the day I knew he didn’t feel the greatest because he was very needy which is not like him and the color in his face was washed out. So we just kept it a low key day and took it hour by hour.  Hopefully tonight will go a little better. I just wish I could help him.

Here are some shots I got of the sick monkey earlier. I was trying some new things.

Craziness.

I really don’t even think crazy is the right word to use. How about just plain ol’ exhausting.  Logan has been going through this crazy faze at 18months that he DOES NOT want to sleep in his own bed. YAY for us! NOT. . I am so tired that I can’t sleep. Yes, that sounds stupid but it is true. This has been going on now for a couple of weeks. He will go to bed at his normal time in his room, and then between 12-3am he would wake up screaming and refuse to go back to sleep in his bed. Now this is all new to us, because he has NEVER slept with us. He has always been in his own bed.  As the weeks went on his time for waking up got earlier and earlier. The other night it was 10:30pm.

On top of this, Wes and I noticed that he was rather warm for a couple days. I didn’t really worry too much about it because the kid is warm blooded like his mama and he plays hard. On Monday of this week I thought he had been warm for a while so I finally decided to take his temperature ( yes, mom of the year award right there, lets wait a couple days!)  I hate when I use the ear baby thermometer because I always get some funky reading like 93.6 when I know that is not right. So i used the trusty thermometer and put it in his little booty ( yes, another award for traumatizing my kid!) Well, to my surprise it was high.. 102.0 to be exact and then I was freaking out.. just a little. So I put him into a cool bath to bring his temp down and gave him some Tylenol.  Just to paint a better picture for you, as I am trying to get the bath ready and call my dad to see if I should do anything else, Logan was running around the house acting like a naked monkey. The kid didn’t act sick at all!

Then the night came. Boy what a night is was. I was up ALL night with a sick kid, who finally realized he didn’t feel well. Once again he was in bed with Wes and I, and right under my arm pit fast asleep radiating with heat from his little body. His fever finally broke around 5:30am when I awoke in a puddle of sweat, and about 20 minutes after that I had one crying kid that I could not get to calm down. So what did I do… Well the only thing I could think of.. Called my dad!!! More like woke up my dad because it was 6:30 in the morning. From there grandma and grandpa came to the rescue. I finally got Logan back to sleep in the recliner and we slept there for about two hours. We he woke up that kid was ready to party like nothing had happened. I, on the other hand, literally could NOT keep my eyes open. I was sitting in the chair, when the next thing I knew I was waking up to Logan shutting the front door. Just a little scary. So once again I called Grandpa and he came to save the day, by picking up Logan so I could get some well needed shut eye.

He hasn’t had a fever since that night, but he still is not sleeping in his bed and this is getting old.. FAST! I need my bed back. I want my bed back. How do I fix this issue because it is really putting a damper on my beauty sleep.  As for Logan, he wakes up ready to go! This morning I was sitting in my office working on my new Photography web-site ( I got rid of the helpful hints and am just focusing on this web-site now) when Logan came in with his shorts and handed them to me, then his shirt, then my keys and last but not least my purse! Do ya think the boy wanted to get out of the house?? So I got him dressed and Kohl, Logan and I went out to play before it got too hot.  We played for a while and Logan ran around like a mad man, which was great because I thought it would tucker him out. HA who was I kidding. Now he is refusing to take naps!

He only had one nap today, normally it is at least two! Does anyone have any advice for this problem. It is really starting to affect me! I need sleep!

Photo Shoot

Today I took some pictures of my friends kids. I had them come up near me to Lake Fulmor which is about 10 miles out of Idyllwild. I love this place. It is so pretty ALL year round. I took about 350 pictures so here is a sneak peak!

Farm Life

Do you know what kind of flower this is???

2009 08 06_0404hmmm Let’s just say this flower can make you some money if you play your cards right.  Still don’t know?

It’s a PUMPKIN!!

2009 08 06_0406

My parents have a pretty good garden going this year. They have squash, zucchini, lettuce, pumpkins, tomatoes, peppers, watermelon (not doing so hot) and CORN!

2009 08 06_0407

I love going over there and picking the squash and zucchini. We love steaming them and having it with dinner. So much better than store bought!

SO here’s the kicker. Yes, their garden is good, but this is what I really wanted to show you.

Our pigs are getting BIG!

There are many people out there that don’t agree with how we raise our meat, or for eating pork, but this is how we roll.  This is how I grew up and if I have a choice I would rather eat home grown meat rather than store bought. SO much better, and I KNOW what is going into the animal and there are NO hormones.

18 Month old Monster

Logan, Logan, Logan! What can I say, this kid is seriously out of control, stuck in HIS ways and into everything. I really don’t know what I was expecting. I prayed to have an outgoing kid, who wasn’t afraid of anything, I got it and then some!

We just had his 18 month check up last week and the doc said he is more than healthy and very happy.  He is right on mark for all his talking, eating on his own and all that other fun stuff as parents we have to let out kids do, even if it does create a mess.  When it comes to his growth he is still above average in about the 90% tile.

Logan’s current weight: 28.8Lbs …   Height: 34 inches.  And growing everyday. Our latest issue with him is sleep. This kid has figured he doesn’t need to sleep at night or take naps. He has been in our bed for the last couple weeks anywhere from midnight to three in the morning. When he comes in our bed, it would make it a little better if he actually slept. But this kid has to roll around, make sure his blankie is with him and then finally fall asleep diagonal between Wes and I which means I normally get the feet, in my face, ribs, and stomach. Fun times.. NOT. I have been so tired lately. I am pretty sure this is because he is getting his two year molars in.. very slow, but I do think they are coming. He has also had some gas the last couple nights. I just hope this will all pass soon, so we can get back to having some normal sleep.

All in All I love this kid, more than life itself. I truly can’t image my life without him. Even through his stubbornness he continues to light up my life each and every day ♥

Believe In your Husband

This does NOT mean you have to believe everything he says.

Last night it was late when I finally got to bed after my blogging and also being unable to sleep. As I was laying there trying to get comfortable Wes started waving his hand and then hitting his face, as if there was a fly circling his head. I ignored his actions and attempted again to fall asleep. I had just got done saying my prayers and was almost to the point right before you fall asleep when Wes sits up and yells …” There is a bug in my ear!” Ha-ha.. I just laughed, told him he was loosing his mind and  was going crazy, then attempted again to fall asleep. He was quiet for a few moments and then said he could hear the bugs wings flapping in his ear. Once again I laughed and told him to get a Q-Tip. I really thought he had lost his marbles.

He was in the bathroom for a while and then came back to bed. After laying there for a few moments he jumped out of bed again, stated the bug was STILL in there and went back to the bathroom. By now I started to worry.. Not that there was a actually a bug in his ear, but that he was REALLY loosing it! He then opened the bathroom door and asked if he could put hydrogen Protoxide in his ear. I told him if he was going to put anything in there he was better off using rubbing alcohol and to only put a couple drops. He then asked how to do that. So I told him to get a cotton ball, fill it with the alcohol and then drop some in his ear. As he did all this I just sat there and waited so I could attempt ONCE AGAIN to go to sleep. Well Lone and Behold There was a flippen bug in this guy’s ear!!! He wasn’t going crazy.

As soon as a couple drops went into his ear, the bug crawled out and just sat there. This is when he yelled at me to come help him. hehe ( it was the least I could do for making fun of him!) So I got the tweezers and pulled the bug out. This type of bug we have everywhere up here. They are like mats/nats ( whatever they are called) but the size of flies. Weird? Yes!  And why did it decided to fly into my husband’s ear in the middle on the night?

Let’s just say I won’t be living this one down for a long time. I am the non-sympathetic wife who just thought my husband was going crazy with his old age when actually in fact there was a bug in his ear, flapping it’s wings!

So maybe I should not only believe IN my husband but I also should believe some of the things he says!
