Oh Logan!

Oh Logan!
Photobucket
People ask me all the time about Logan and how he is doing. I am sure I am not answering this question correct but it is the first thing that comes to my mind.. "He is a monster!" Now, when I say this, I do NOT mean big bad monster. I am talking about a little 13month old that gets into everything and has a cheesy smile when he knows he did something he wasn't supposed to! That is the monster I am talking about. This kid is keeping me so busy. When I talk about him at work and tell the girls the "new" things he is doing, they just laugh and ask if I really expected anything different from "MY" child. To be honest, I guess I didn't. Deep down I knew I wanted a fun crazy, outgoing kid, but boy they are hard work.
Logan's Latest:
  • He is stacking things next to the windows so he can see out.
  • Lately he is trying to skip his nap, which is not going over well.
  • He is waving at everything. Hello, Goodbye, and even when you yell NO, he will wave at you
  • His new thing is this cheesy smile. He tilts his head back, closes his eyes, and smiles the biggest smile he can.
  • When he has something he shouldn't and you try to get it from him, he tries to run away.
  • He is now trying to JUMP off the bed and thinks it is funny when I BARELY catch him.
  • He loves to hide under blankets.
  • He really could care less about the TV or anything on it. (Didn't get that from me!)
  • When I give him a sippy cup, he thinks he is cool. Drinks out of it to be funny. So we are still on the bottle.
  • Cows milk tears up his stomach so we are still on formula $$$.
  • He has a fake cough to get attention
  • He will also scream, or cry like Penny is attacking him, when she is NO where around, for attention.
  • Just in the last week he has started to cry and get fussy when I leave him in the mornings and he is very concerned we are going to forget him when we leave for somewhere.
  • I do have to say.. He is the light of my life. I cannot image my world without him. At times I want to scream, but it is only out of pure LOVE!

This was right after he got into the Aquaphor and had it EVERYWHERE. This would be why he is Shinney!

Logan's Night Out

Last week when Wes and I went to the concert we took his parents with us. So this left us with a little dilemma. We didn't have a babysitter! Normally my parents would watch him, but I didn't want to drive up the mountain after the concert. So we asked Shelly! She is Wes' cousin and their family absolutely loves Logan! I was a little nervous leaving him, not for myself, but for him. First time in a new place and I was leaving him for a good 24hrs. Since I worked on Thursday before the concert, I dropped him off at 6am and didn't pick him up until the next morning. Let me just say.. it was weird not having my little monster around. We have not left him anywhere over night since last April. When I first got to Shelly's house and sat him down he cried and tried to climb back up my leg. So I just held him for a while, then before I left he went to Shelly.
When Shelly had to go to work Kirsten watched him. Boy did they have a ball. So much fun that when I went to pick him up he could care less that I was there. YA! let's just say I was surprised. I expected my little one to come running to me, all smiles and try to climb my leg again. Man was I wrong! I just looked at me, gave a little smile and then went right back to Kirsten. Once I explained I was his mother and he needed to come to ME, we were OK and back on track.
Logan came home with more than I left him with. That kid is spoiled. Tonight Shelly e-mailed me some pictures from Logan's stay...which are so cute.

This is Logan learning some soccer moves!
Photobucket
Shelly wrote in her e-mail that he found this red circle thing and wouldn't let go of it. He would dance on it, eat it and take it where ever he went.

This one is my favorite! The only thing that puzzles me is why doesn't my kid fall asleep with me like this.. Ahh I would LOVE to take a nap with him.

Shelly and Kirsten Loved having him and I know HE LOVED being there. Which means.... Logan will have to get prepared to have more sleep overs at the Swinford house!!

Brooks & Dunn

WOW! All I can say is Brooks & Dunn are AMAZING in concert! I have to be honest .. I wasn't that excited about going and seeing them. I like them, but they are no one I have wanted or cared to see. That has all changed now. I have gone to a few concerts in my 25 years of life, and by far Brooks and Dunn were the best! They are great entertainers. It also probably didn't hurt that we had THIRD ROW SEATS!!! Yep.. third row! It pays to know people. The concert was held at San Manuel. Logan's pediatrician has a lot of patients from San Manuel since she is in Highland, so they will give/or sell tickets to her staff for they price they pay. So the girl who got them didn't want them so she asked me. To show how much I didn't care about going, I was actually trying to sell the tickets on Craig's list earlier this week. I had offers but didn't take them, and boy am I glad I didn't.
So if you like country and like Brooks & Dunn even a little I suggest you try to make it to one of their concerts. Truly an awesome show!
Shelly and Kirsten watched Logan for us and boy did we miss him, but I have to admit it was nice to get away with Wes. These last couple weeks have been amazing for Wes and I. I feel like we are dating again and so in love. For Logan's birthday, my parents gave us a free night card. So we are going to redeem that tomorrow go to dinner and then go to our friends house warming for a while. I can't wait to sleep in on Sunday!

Kohl's Dentist Apt.

Yesterday we had the first of two major dentist appointments for Kohl. For some reason this kid didn't get a good set of teeth, and it probably doesn't help that he does not brush them like he should. For example, that tooth brush that plays music so the kids know how long they are supposed to be brushing. Yeah, well we have all caught Kohl Dancing, instead of brushing! Let's just say he had a lot of cavities. Yesterday we were going in the get four of them filled and sealed. At the initial visit when he had his teeth cleaned, they boy could not sit still. So they had planned on giving him "laughing gas" to calm him down. All week long the only thing he could talk about was "the shot!" For the record.. He doesn't even know he had a shot! That laughing gas really worked. He only had one melt down, and they is because he felt weird and didn't like not being able to feel his tongue. Wes was rained out from work yesterday so he was able to go. The room was small so they asked that only one parent stay and Kohl wanted his dad. At least I was still able to watch. This is a kid/parent friendly office so they room they had him in had a window where I could see everything. The window is why the pictures aren't that great. Overall Kohl did wonderful. Who likes the dentist? I know I sure don't. I wish they had laughing gas for when I went, then maybe I would go when I was supposed to! I forgot to get an after picture, but I will try next time, since we have to go back in two weeks for the other side of his mouth.

These last two were when he had his melt down. Once I went in there and talked to him, things were great and he finished like a champ.

Cora's Story

I was reading all the blogs I follow the other day when I came across this blog that talked about Cora. Anyone that knows me, knows that I have to find out the WHOLE story. So I did some more looking around and I was so sad and so touched by this little girl and her parents.

To make a long story short Cora had a double ear infection in the beginning of January by the end of January she hadn't gotten better so her parents took her to the doctor where they did blood work and an x-ray. Her results were not good. Her liver was very enlarged and blood work didn't look so good. She then was taken to the hospital where they preformed an operation and found out she had stage four cancer that had spread everywhere and she also had over 100 spots on her liver. You can read all about her story HERE. The reason why I am telling you about Cora is not only because her story and her family have touched me so much, but because there is a group on people on ETSY who has come together and raise money to build a playground in Cora's name, which is what her family wanted. You can go to ETSY and everything you buy from these people, all profits are going to Cora's Playground. There is some really cute things to buy and at really great prices. Cora was going to be one in March but passed away Feb. 8Th. This touched my heart because I could never image having my child get so sick and then passing away. It was hard enough when Wes had cancer. This family, through everything, still remains strong and has put all their faith into Jesus. It just goes to show, we a NOT in control. He is.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

Boys

This morning my alarm clock was set for 4:30am. Why so early? I needed to get up for work! So I was laying there sound asleep, but I could hear a puppy barking in my dream. Well, come to find out, IT WASN'T MY DREAM! When I came to my senses I could also hear Kohl talking. Then I said to Wes, " I think Kohl is awake!" I layed there in my bed staring at the clock and I was mad! I was mad because I had 45 minutes more to sleep. Ahh I hate being woke up when I have such little time to sleep. So when Wes walked into the boys bedroom not only did he find Kohl awake, but also Logan and Penny. To top it off, they weren't just sitting there quietly, they were ALL on Kohl's bedding PLAYING!! Yes, Playing, laughing and having a good ol' time at 3:45 in the morning. Boy was I mad!
I guess Logan woke up and Kohl then too woke up so he just decided to get him out of his crib so Wes and I could sleep. So then Penny heard the boys up and she too wanted to play. Ahh kids! Aren't they great? Wes then brought Logan into our bedroom so we could get him back to sleep and told Kohl to go back to bed. Once I got Logan back to sleep I figured it was safe to get up and start getting ready. HA. ya right! as soon as I moved that kid woke up! I snuck away anyway and he finally went back to sleep. So as I was getting dressed I heard Kohl's TV turn on. Already mad again, I walked into his doorway to find him FULLY dressed standing literally two inches away from his TV. First he jumped once he saw me, then I told him to get his little hinney back in bed and NOT to turn the TV on until his clock said six am. Holy Moly man. So lets just say that is how my morning started and now I am at work and SO so so tired.
I guess all you can say is Boys will be boys.
Now that it is several hours later and I have told the girls at work, all I can do it laugh. It is pretty funny. But why at 3:45 in the morning.

This Guy

Photobucket
Had his One Year old Check up today.. And boy is he healthy!!
Lets just face it, my son is One but looks like he is TWO!!
He weights 26.3lbs and he is 30.3 inches tall. Holy Moly. ( Actually I thought he weighed more than that)
He is in the 75% percentile for his height and his head circumstance. And for his weight.. He is in the 98% percentile. Told ya he was big! He also got three shots today, which stunned him a little and then I think he was mad at me for a good hour. The only thing I can really report is I have a healthy, strong little boy! I really couldn't be happier!

Floating Trio

Another product from Gold Canyon Candles that I love!

The Floating Tealight Trio, candle holders. This thing is so neat and hand made, so no two are alike. I saw a really neat idea to do with these, but since I am snowed it, it will have to wait for another day. For Valentines day, you can take candy hearts and put them in holders instead of water. Actually you can use about anything to make it decorative for the holidays. And on a side note, when my dad brought us food this morning, he also brought me those yellow roses. Aren't they pretty!
Nothing better than candles burning on a snowy day!

Winter Wonderland

It's snowing again and this time I love it even more, because Wes is home. The weather reoprt said we would possibly get snow, so we both said last night that if there was snow on the ground, we wouldn't risk it. We woke at 3:30am and boy was there snow! So both called work and got back in bed. When we woke up this morning I couldn't believe it, and then it dawned on me, we didn't have any food. Luckily my dad was on his way home from work and stopped by Stater's.. What an awesome dad.
Oh and for the pictures with Logan in them. If you know me, you know my son and how he hates clothes. So yes, he does NOT have socks on, and he also wanted to play in the snow!!

After My Heart ♥

Gold Canyon has a wonder gift idea that is great for anyone this Valentines day. I bought it earlier this week and it came in today. I have to say, the picture on the web-site gives this gift NO justice! When I got the box today, I thought, what is this? I opened it and was completely surprised. This box is big. I love when I get pretty boxes and can use them for other things, or re-gift the box. I also love the wick dipper it comes with! A heart. I love hearts. It also doesn't hurt that the candle that comes with it is Love Struck and it smells pretty darn good. These last couple weeks I have been buying candles like a mad woman. Everyday Wes comes home and comments on how nice the house smells. I do have to say, having a nice, clean, fresh smelling house has helped me relax. Even if it is not clean, it still smells nice and I love it.
Don't forget, I am still doing my giveaway. Feel free to check it out. Until next time, here are some pictures of the After my Heart gift set.

PaPa

Yesterday Logan and I went down the Lawrence Welk to visit with my Papa. He is down he for the week using his time share. Every time I see him it makes me miss him more, which I didn't think was possible because I already miss him so much. It is so nice to see him and Logan together. To think he is playing with him the same way he use to play with me. My Papa is 77 years old (I think) but you would never know, besides the occasional repeating yourself because he didn't hear you. Come to think of it .. I have to do that with Wes all the time! he he My Papa was especially excited this time to see us because he brought the "famous horse" to get a picture of Logan on it. This special horse he bought in 1977 at Fedco for $3.00. Him and my Nana bought this horse for my oldest cousin Curtis, but now has had a picture with EVERY grandchild on it around the same age. Pretty amazing if you ask me.
